In no particular order. Starting with a side lit shot. This again is the lovely Elizabeth. I went to a local park with my brother and his family to do a lifestyle shoot for them involving leaf throwing as it is autumn (fall) here right now. I am not entirely happy with this shot as I would have liked to have gotten her hands in the shot and feel her face could be a little clearer. What I do like about it is that I was able to capture that split second of her throwing the leaves and the great big genuine smile on her face.
This is a front lit shot. It was again at the park with my brother. This time having my nephew Luke in a photo as well. I think I might try and submit another front lit shot next week. I feel Ellie is too out of focus for my liking. I do love her face though, my brother was pretending to throw leaves on me at the time. We were trying to get them to look up just a little to stop any shadows under eyes etc but he was standing and I was lying down so the are looking up really high.
In this one I was trying to use the concrete and the light brick work. I am not sure about the shadow on Anthea's face which is why I opted for black and white. I do like the expression on her face though.
I think with husband away I am more tired and my photos are showing it, maybe I just had an off week.
This is my attempt at a silhouette. It is taken out the front of my house. What I like is that I managed to get the star burst.
This is the back lit photo. I think her hand is quite blurry in this one though :-(. It was the best smiling photo I took. I took another really nice one expect there was a pole coming out of the top of her head, which is a shame because everything else in it was lovely.
Sorry for the downer week of reviews. Between husband being away and hurting my back I think it was not one of my finest homework weeks.
I did take some shots for a friend and her children which she loved yesterday so I was able to end to week on an okay note.
Thanks Sarah and Brooke and classmates for the support over the weeks, it has been fun.
You are being way too hard on yourself, Gemma. Your pictures are always great. Sorry you've had a frustrating week - - hope you feel better.
ReplyDeleteGemma! I feel for you! I dread the times my husband is away! Parenthood is a two person job!! Makes me admire the strength of single mothers even more! I think you got some delightful images! I especially love the expression on your nieces face in the first shot! Motion has such an exciting effect upon expression and brings such energy! I wish you a delightful reunion with your husband :)
